Preliminary Testing

Donnie at D&B Sprinters built a neat wind tunnel, really works very well we adjusted wind speed (fan suction) with a digital wind speed gauge to 100mph. Amazing what a few little changes will do. Note the one truck is lowered with moons and no mirror etc We are using a evap tester smoke machine now and have already discovered some pretty neat tricks etc.

Salt Report
July 11th, 2005

Here it is only 67 days from Bonneville time already. As expected there is still very much to do.
The basic chassis and truck is done bit some time has wasted away over the last weeks waiting on one thing or another. Nothing is so time consuming causing the truck not to meet the deadline but for sure we have slowed some over the last few weeks.
Last week we picked up some speed and lots of little things got done.
The doors are on the cab, the seats are ready to mount and the roll cage is finally welded up and complete.
The bed is coming along and the fenders, running boards and front grill assembly should be done (painted red) by Wednesday. The set up engine is removed and the first (red) race motor is in the truck and bolted up. The Scott fuel injection system is on the engine and actually looks like it should work very well.
Hopefully this week we can test fire (and drive) the race motor to shake it down a bit.
Our goal is to drive the truck to the LTI car show on the 23rd .
