WOW, after two days on the salt we seem to be stuck at 5mph under the record. I have driven the truck 5 trips past the three mile marker and have almost averaged 96 mph. The truck ran 110 in Indiana on the interstate and we just cant get past the 96 mark here. The fastest time has been 97 mph. Ed has been computing air fuel using a computer weather station. It appears in the morning we need a/f for 5500 feet elevation (altitude ratio) and by the end of the day we need 7500 feet. Indiana may be 30 feet but shows very little change. I will post all mods, etc. later when
I get back home with high speed internet. Tomorrow we plan on changing the engine with a new larger, better engine that should pull some more rpm. However it looks like rain for tomorrow. If it is wet tomorrow we will load up for the long 1660 mile trip home. If its dry we will install the killer motor and get a couple more runs. The experience has been so great that we have maintained a smile and will continue to do so for some time. |
