Back to 2007 updates

Over the year we have discussed Bonneville many times but have done very little other than have some adapters machined to place our engines on a dyno. We have two more engines both having increased breathing capacity due to larger cubic inches, larger valves and more camshaft lift etc. (More on the actual engine specs as time goes on) Now with just a few weeks of time left we are on the program again! Nothing like putting off a project until the last minute. Last wed evening (Hot Rod Night at the shop) we drove the truck over to the 30G location and removed the engine and transmission. Pretty easy event as we had tons of help and everyone just jumped in and got it done.

Now we have three flatheads in the bay and one (our killer motor) already delivered to Richie at the dyno shop. Only two of the engines will be raced in the truck and three will be dyno’d as time permits. The engine we ran last year (needed 200 more rpm) will be baselined on the dyno to show where we were at the time and retired. It will make a great little engine for a hot rod! The second engine (I call it the yellow engine as it was yellow when I got it) has lots of work done to it and will go on the dyno second , hopefully to see a large increase and straight to the truck , jetted correctly with a holley four barrel. The third engine ( 312 CI) is he last and really doesn’t need to run this year will be Hilborn Injected for gasoline. This could take the longest and is on my mind for 2008. Stay tuned for the next week or so as we get-er-done!!

Jim
