A few words about our trailers.

Our trailers are exact copies of the original “Kit” manufacturing tear drop camping trailer produced during 1946, 1947 and 1948.

I restored an original Kit teardrop and all plans came from it.

The cabin (not counting frame) is eight feet long and 4 foot wide (not counting tires, wheels and fenders).

They have a sleeping area of 47 inches by 75 inches long and come with a 5 inch dense foam mattress installed.

The interior has three cabinets with latching doors. One for him, one for her and the middle one for what ever you wish. (My original has a fan in the center door or a heater depending on weather).

They are all wood construction with .032 aluminum skin glued to each side. The interior is oak beams with a paneling interior finish. Floor is 5/8 coated marine plywood.

Frames are powder coated steel channel (copy of original) and use a specially made 1000 lb rubber torsion axle with 15 inch VW Beetle chrome wheels and radial tires.

Interior lighting is twin interior cabin lamps and a single galley headboard style lamp wired to a 12 volt marine battery with charger (12 V)

Each trailer has rear storage compartment and original style ice box with cutting board lid.

Trailer lighting is twin stainless Model A Ford tail lamps and side marker lamps.

Trailers weight 690 lbs give or take a pound or two and have a tongue weight of approx 125 lbs. Tongue weight will vary based on rear of axle galley load and ice box contents. A tongue prop rod and roller dolly wheel is provided with each trailer.

Aluminum side widows with screens allow crank out open and closing. Door locks are Model A Ford with interior and exterior locking features.

Original style fiberglass fenders are painted your choice of paint colors to match what ever theme you may have.
