Chevrolet Mallory™ Distributor Conversion for 1949-1953 Flathead Ford |
| Mallory™ distributors for a flathead are kind of hard to find and old Chevrolet V8 Mallory™ units are in abundance. |
The following pictorial illustrates what our typical conversion consists of. |
|
Step one is to clean degrease and disassemble the Mallory™ distributor. |

Advance weights are cleaned , degreased and lubed prior to reassembly. Top plate reinstalled with contact points etc... |

| Distributor is then spun on machine and contacts adjusted. Note this one has a four lobe cam and dwell per contact set is using the four cylinder scale. As we will not be using a dual coil, a jumper wire will be installed to tie the contact sets together for using a single condenser and standard ignition coil. |
